Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Legendary jazz-funk fusion band "Level 42" will visit Indonesia to give concerts in three big cities next week, a spokesperson of the group`s promotor said.
"The group will hold its first concert in Medan (North Sumatra) on June 11, its second concert in Bandung on June 13 and its third concert in Surabaya (East Java) on June 14," Peter Basuki, chief executive officer (CEO) of Buena Productions, said here Friday night.
The group`s Indonesia visit is part of a world tour that will also take it to the Netherlands and Portugal, he said.
Level 42 was formed in 1980 as a jazz-funk fusion band by the Gould brothers, namely Phil Gould (drum) and Boon Gould (guitar). The group now consists of Mark King (bass and vocal), Mike Lindup (keyboard), Gary Husband (drums) and Nathan King (guitar).
The band gained fame for its high calibre musicianship, especially that of Mark King whose percussive slap bass technique provided the driving groove of many of the band`s hits. Level 42 has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide.
