Famous as an expansion area of Batavia during the Dutch colonial era, Bogor is home to numerous buildings that date back as far as the 18th century.
"All of the buildings on the list were built during the Dutch era. They include government offices, schools, research centers and commercial buildings," Bogor heritage inventory team head Rahmat Iskandar told Tempointeraktif.com newsportal.
The oldest building on the list is the Bogor Presidential Palace built in 1745.
There are a number of buildings in the same hybrid architectural style known as Indische that date back to between 1938 and 1940.
Most of these buildings are found along a strip that was then known as Groote Posweg, which today is Jl. Ahmad Yani, Jl. Jendral Sudirman, Jl. Suryakencana and strips lining the way from the Puncak resort area to Bandung.
The book also includes artifacts dating back to the pre-Islamic Hindu and Buddhist kingdoms that thrived in the area.
