Thousands of people meet President in open house

JAKARTA (JP): Thousands of people visited President SusiloBambang Yudhoyono during an open house held at the State Palace on Saturday.

Although the open house was scheduled to begin from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., the people have lined up since 1 p.m. in the State Secretariat compound, which is located in the same area with the Palace.

Makeshift tents were provided in the location to shield the visitors from heat.

The visitors were finally allowed to enter the Palace as the open house started as scheduled at 3 p.m.

They shook hand with Yudhoyono and his wife Ani Yudhoyono before leaving the Palace.
