TANGERANG (The Jakarta Post): Bumi Serpong Damai's (BSD) Jajan Jazz community will send six groups to perform at the Jakarta International Annual Jazz Festival at Bung Karno Sports Stadium.
The six -- Bianglala, Boby Group, Jazzmatic, Pro Rejected, Tiga Mawarnih, and Zania -- outshone another 13 groups during the selection process. The groups will perform at the festival that runs from Nov. 24 to 26, according to organizer Jeffry Tahelele.
He said there would be special stages for Jajan Jazz at the international festival, he said, adding that famous artists Tetsuo Sakurai and Spyro Gyra were among those invited.
He hoped the groups would get valuable experience by playing at the international event, he said. He also expected the event to build the profile of Jajan Jazz in the international community.
Jajan Jazz, launched in March 2005, stages regular performances at BSD housing complex's Taman Jajan food court every first Thursday of the month from 9:00 p.m. to midnight.
