Mangroves distributed to tourists

KUTA (The Jakarta Post) : AlamKulkul Boutique Resort & Hotel Bali welcomed the new year in an original way, by distributing mangrove trees to a number of foreign visitors late Monday.

The trees were presented to, among others, Australian, Dutch, Japanese and Russian tourists, president director of Alam Resorts Group Feisol Hashim told Antara.

He said some 8,500 mangrove trees had been distributed so far to help preserve the environment and combat global warming.

Feisol, who is also an honorary consul of Malaysia, said AlamKulkul plans to plant 3,000 flowering trees in Uluwatu this year.
