150 Asian artists to hold joint exhibition in Bali

Denpasar (ANTARA News) - As many as 150 artists from Asia region called themselves Asian Watercolours (AWC) to hold an exhibition in Neka Museum of artist village in Ubud, Bali, starting November 8 to 13, 2008. 

The joint exhibition would shown 140 watercolour paintings, chairman of organizing committee, Iwan Sulistyo, accompanied by General Secretary of AWC, Alvin Lee, and Director of Neka Museum, Pande Wayan Suteja Neka, said here Saturday. 

Moreover, Iwan explained that the joint exhibition was biennual and Indonesia had been the host three times in a row since 2002 until 2008. From the three exhibition, he said, two among them was held in Neka Museum, artist village, Ubud, Bali. 

"This year`s exhibition was the 19th of all AWC show," Iwan said adding that AWC was intended to strengthen the relations of watercolour artists in Asia region. 

The chairman also said that this year`s AWC would have meetings and workshop activities in order to share informations and gain solidarity among its members. 

AWC contained artists from Korea, Myanmar, Thailand, China, Hongkong, Taiwan and Indonesia. 

Another countries which always support the exhibition were Japan, Malaysia, and Singapore.
