Obama, Yudhoyono meet

President Obama meets with President Yudhoyono of Indonesia.

A few nice moments at the joint appearance following President Obama’s bilateral meet with Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, which was POTUS’s last event before heading to the airport.

With the two delegations were lined up on either side, Obama praised “the wonderful relationship that I've been able to develop with President Yudhoyono. As many of you know, I have some historic ties to Indonesia” and said he looked forward to visiting Indonesia next year.

"I am hoping to be able to take Michelle and the girls so they can take a look at some of my old haunting grounds," drawing laughter from the assembled delegations.

Yodhoyono praised Obama as “a friend of Indonesia. He knows Indonesia very well, and he is well respected in Indonesia,” amd for “his fresh new approach to the world, to many international issues, including his positive outreach to the Islamic world.”

He added that “I look forward to welcoming President Obama to Indonesia next year, and he will be warmly welcomed by the Indonesian people.”
