Solo, C Java (ANTARA News) - Legendary composer Gesang who created the famous song "Bengawan Solo" (Solo River) was on Saturday admitted to the Muhammadiyah Hospital`s emergency unit.

The 92-year-old musician was picked up by an ambulance soon after his relatives called the hospital`s paramedics telling them about his health condition.

He was then brought to the hospital`s emergency room. According to an on-duty doctor, Nanang Wiyono, the paramedics had given him an infusion and oxygen pipe.

Gesang was brought back to the hospital after refusing to eat. "He throws up all the food he is fed with," he said.

Doctor Wiyono said Gesang would likely be moved to the intensive care unit for further medical treatment.

"An internist is now taking care of him," he said.

On January 16, Gesang was also taken to the hospital after complaining about pains when urinating. Doctors found out that the pains he suffered were related to a prostate problem.

Two days later, he underwent prostate surgery and thereafter Muhammadiyah Hospital doctors declared him cured so that he could go home.

Gesang`s ever-green song, "Bengawan Solo" is not only popular in Indonesia but also in other countries such as Japan and the Netherlands.
