President Yudhoyono enjoys "pecel" in Madiun

Madiun (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono took time out while on a working visit to Madiun, East Java, on Monday evening to taste "pecel", a local traditional delicacy.

"You have not yet visited Madiun if you have not tasted the pecel of Madiun. It is true Pecel Madiun is really yum-yum," he said after enjoying Pecel Madiun at Pecel 99 Stall.

He said after his planned visit to Madiun was confirmed he then asked for a recommendation from coordinating minister for legal, political and security affairs Djoko Suyanto who was born in Madiun regarding the best pecel stall in the city.

Later he asked him to enjoy the salad with blanched vegetables served with peanut sauce at the Nasi Pecel 99 restaurant.

"Let us all relax for a while tonight, before returning to Jakarta handling politics and others," he said.

President Yudhoyono shared a table with first lady Mrs Ani Yudhoyono and son Edhie Baskoro while a number of cabinet ministers in his entourage sat at other tables.

The two-storey restaurant was practically full with members of the presidential entourage while HOS Cokroaminoto was closed for around an hour while the president was there.

Before leaving the restaurant the President approached the people who watched his activity from afar. After talking with them for a minute he returned to the Iswahyudi air base to spend a night there.
