JAKARTA: The Jakarta Legislative Council recommended on Friday that the city administration move the annual Jakarta Fair (PRJ) to the Old Town complex in West Jakarta from Kemayoran in Central Jakarta.
The council said the move would benefit the city budget-wise because the new location was run by the Jakarta administration.
The spacious Kemayoran exhibition hall complex is operated by private firm PT Jakarta International Expo.
The Council also said it believed the Old Town would be a better place for the annual fair because it could be easily accessed by people from all over Jakarta.
“The Old Town is already the icon of Jakarta. With all the available facilities, it is possible to move the annual fair there. We just need minor renovations to beautify the area,” councillor Prya Ramadhani told news portal beritajakarta.com. — JP
