Denpasar, Bali (ANTARA News) - A total of 23,111 Chinese tourists visited Bali in January 2009, accounting for 14.01 percent of the total number of foreign tourists visiting the resort island in that month.
"The number of Chinese tourists visiting Bali in January 2009 rose 10,457 or 82.6 percent compared to December 2008 when the figure was recorded at 12,654," Head of the Bali Provincial Office of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) Ida Komang Wisnu said on Thursday.
Last year, 131,319 Chinese tourists visited Bali, jumping 55.82 percent from the year before when the figure was 84.278.
China now ranks third after Australia and Japan in terms of the number pf foreign visiting Bali.
