The nominees from 71 countries included leaders in the business world and the government, academics, non-profit organizations, the media and the community.

Yenny expressed her gratitude for her award. She hoped her efforts can bring changes for the better, saying there were other youths who deserved the award more than she did, such as people who dedicated themselves and contributed to a better life in Indonesia. “There are other people who deserve this award more, but maybe I got it because my surname is Wahid,” she said, when she was contacted for her comments.

The list of the entire YGL recipients can be seen on www.weforum.org which consists of 54 emerging leaders from East Asia, 48 from Europe, 32 from Middle East and Africa, 45 from North America, 24 from South Asia and 17 from Latin America.
