Iranian Embassy to hold cultural week

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Iranian Embassy in cooperation with the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Culture will organize an Iranian Cultural Week at the National Museum here on March 3-10.

"For the first time we will organize an Iranian Cultural Week in Indonesia as part of efforts to enhance relations between the two countries," head of the embassy's cultural section Mohammad Ali Rabbani said on Friday.

Indonesia and Iran which had many things in common had signed a number of agreements in culture, tourism, youth and sports since 32 years ago, he said.

But the implementation of the agreements still fell short of expectation and therefore, most Indonesian people knew much about Iran from the political point of view, he said.

Indonesia introduced its culture to the Iranian people two years ago and now was Iran's turn to do the same in Indonesia, he said.
