Two deputy chairmen of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) visited the headquarters of rock group Slank on Monday to express thanks for the band’s relentless support of the country’s anticorruption campaign.
The commission’s deputy chairmen, Bibit Samad Rianto and Haryono Umar visited Slank’s compound in Kalibata, South Jakarta, on Monday afternoon.
“We are showing our appreciation to Slank for their efforts for corruption eradication. During 2008 and 2009, Slank and Slankers (the nickname for the band’s fans) have helped support the anticorruption spirit in Indonesia,” Haryono said.
Haryono and Bibit also congratulated Slank on their 26th anniversary as a band and promised that the KPK would stay in touch with them in the future.
“We hope Slank will be able to hold a concert in the near future. The KPK will not lose contact with Slank and the thousands of Slankers who are against corruption,” Bibit said.
All Slank members were present during the meeting. Slank’s manager, Bunda Iffet, thanked Haryono and Bibit for their visit.
“Thank you very much to the KPK for being willing to come and visit us,” Bunda said.
