Taking a break from political tension facing his administration, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono released his third song album at Taman Ismail Marzuki culture center on Sunday, kompas.com reported.
Titled “Ku Yakin Sampai ke Sana” [I believe I can reach there], the new album comprises nine songs of various genres. A number of noted musicians were involved in the making of the album, including Jay Tobing, Rio Febrian, Fariz RM, Elfa Singers, Tantowi Yahya, Koswoyo Junior and Vidi Aldiano.
The lyrics of the songs look to represent the President’s mood.
“Amid my endeavors and struggle to fulfill the people’s mandate I sometimes express my feeling in the form of art works. Through the art works I expect to communicate my mood to the general public, the children of Indonesia,” Yudhoyono said in his remarks.
He said the album reflected his conviction, commitment and determination to lead the country to prosperity.
The release comes as Yudhoyono is completing his first 100 days in office and in the wake of mounting pressures from House of Representatives lawmakers on Vice President Boediono and Finance Minister to resign in connection with the controversial bailout of Bank Century.
