Denpasar (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is scheduled to dedicate the Bali Safari & Marine Park (BSMP) at Lebih village in Gianyar disstrict next Monday, the park management`s spokesman, John Sumampau, said here Friday.
He said the BSMP which was built on a 40-hectare plot of land, had a collection of 400 animals belonging to at least 80 species.
Before inaugurating the park , the head of state would be presented with a book on Indonesia`s rare animals such as rhinoceros, elephants and tigers by Forestry Minister MS Kaban while First Lady Ani Yudhoyono would receive a butterfly of a species recently discovered in Papua named "Delies Kristianice" from Friar Hank.
After receiving the butterfly, the First Lady would hand it over to a representative of the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) museum and then sign the first-day cover of a stamp bearing te picture of a Delias Kristianice butterfly.
The BSMP is a national tourist objects where various kinds of wild-life from India, Africa and Indonesia are being preserved.
In its future development, the BSP is expected to become a favorite tourist object in Bali.
